For one local company, the Indy Business Makeover Competition will have a significant impact.
2009 Indy Business Makeover Competition winner College Mentors for Kids will receive more than $80,000 of donated products and services from local businesses, including: a new server, Web site and office furniture among other prizes.
According to College Mentors CEO Erin Slater, “The Indy Business Makeover will allow us to serve additional youth and increase our impact on the community. We have plans to expand nationally, and this could propel us toward that goal. We’d like to thank our supporters who voted for us and competition sponsors for creating this opportunity.”
The competition was open to central Indiana companies in operation for at least five years with five or more employees. Applications were accepted in July, and ten finalists were selected and posted here for public voting. More than 7,000 votes were cast during a five-day period to determine the winner.
A luncheon for the ten finalists took place on Tuesday, August 11 at the new WFYI building. We'd like to thank MBP Catering, Gerry Dick of Inside INdiana Business, Premier Capital Corporation, and WFYI for their generous contributions.
